The course.
All races start and finish at Dallas City Hall Plaza, at Marilla and South Akard streets. On Sunday the marathon, half marathon and 50K leave together in corral waves from 8:00 AM and pass through several Dallas neighborhoods before returning downtown. The courses split at mile 7.8 (Richmond and Greenville avenues), which is also the first cutoff at 10:45 AM; the 50K has a second cutoff at mile 18.5 on the White Rock Lake Trail at noon. Time limits are 6.5 hours for the marathon and 50K and 4 hours for the half marathon. The marathon course is USATF-certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier. There are 17 aid stations serving water and Gatorade Endurance Formula, and the Dallas Running Club runs pace groups from 3:15 to 5:15 for the marathon and 1:30 to 3:00 for the half. The relay follows the marathon course in five legs of 3 to 7 miles. On Saturday the 10K and 5K run through downtown and Deep Ellum, with limits of 2 hours and 1 hour. The Friday mile is two laps around City Hall Plaza, run in rolling heats from 7:00 PM.
