The course.
Both distances use a loop course that starts on J Street just west of the Sacramento State campus entrance and runs through the tree-lined streets of East Sacramento. The 10K sets off first; 5K runners wait off J Street until every 10K runner has crossed the start line. Live bands play at points along the course.
