The 49th running of the Chicago Marathon, one of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, starting and finishing in Grant Park. Most spots go through a drawing of applications taken from October 8 to 29, 2026, with guaranteed entry for time qualifiers, legacy finishers, charity runners and a few other groups.

The course.
The course starts and finishes in Grant Park, and the organizer says it passes through 29 Chicago neighborhoods. Runners must be able to finish within 6 hours 30 minutes, roughly a 15-minute mile, and the roads reopen behind that pace on a rolling schedule.
